cross country

Whats up blogging friends and welcome back to my learning blog.
On Tuesday Waikowhai Primary School had cross country.

We had lots of activity's to do while we were waiting for our race like giant games (giant connect 4 giant pick up sticks normal mini golf normal bowling) . The next activity we did was rako sticks we made music then we sang a song while using the rako sticks . The next activity was a game where you got into 4 teams and the first person put on a blind fold and the person behind them had to guide them to pick up some thing and bring it back, but you weren't allowed to touch them.
The last activity we did before the race was warming up and doing running activity's like sprint races and doing stuff with balls. Here are some photos of the activities

Yay it's time for the race . The race was 2 kilometre's long and most of it was on the muddy grass and I came 5th in the race  here are some photos.

This time cross country was quite hard because it was really muddy but luckily I didn't slip. Blog you later.

Magical World Of Science By Richard and Robin.

Hello Blogging world and welcome back to my blog.
Today at school we had a science show made by some scientists called Richard and Robin.
They showed us what you need to make fire... you need heat, oxygen and fuel. For fuel you could use different types of fuel like wood, paper and plastic.

Another thing they showed us was about bubbles. We learnt that bubbles are the thinnest thing you can see with just your eye. Richard blew a really big bubble about the size of 3 soccer balls. He also told us that bubbles have two layers and why. He said bubbles have 2 layers because the outside layer makes a reflection that's why balloons are multi coloured and the other layer inside the outside layer traps the water inside. We also learnt about physics. Richard had a hair dryer and a ping pong ball. Richard turned on the hair dryer then pointed it to the roof then put the ping pong ball by the hair dryer then he asked us to put our hands up if you thought the ball would fly up or if it would just hover. Then he let go of the ball and it started to hover because the air pushed it up and the gravity pulled it down.n Then he used a leaf blower and used a sphere with the world on it and it still hovered but it hit the roof . . . but it didn't matter because the ball was just made of air.

We also learnt about H2O which is water. We learnt that water is the only substance on earth that exists in Gas, Liquid and Solid. If you liked this blog post and you would like to get updated when I post follow me.Please feel free to comment.

mine craft characters

2 days ago Te Waka Ako made mine craft characters using google spread sheets. First we made Steve then we got to choose what to make but I didn't make it up to that stage so I've only got Steve but my friend made Logan Paul so I put that in as well . Here is Steve ...

This was a hard activity because we had to make sure every thing had the right amount of squares so you could put in the eyes and everything else.

student toolkits

HELLO BLOGGING world!!!

Yesterday 24 students from Waikowhai and all the other schools from Ako Hiko went to new Windsor school with thier chrome books for a thing called student tool kits.When all the schools arrived in the auditorium we got a warm welcome from the New Windsor Schools principal and Gerard. Then we had a little competition 2 people from each school would come  down on to the basket ball court then those 2 people from the 8 schools got a Ipad and a Sphero.  A Sphero is a robot shaped as a sphere that you code to move around our two people were Max and Lily. after the competition we had morning tea out side in the play ground.After morning tea we went to our first work shop.My one was tinker cad  in Room 13 the internet was really slow at first so I only got a little bit to actually tinker . here are 2 photos of me and some of my other friends tinkering

after work shop 1 every one went to work shop 2. In work shop 2 I was teaching some students with Bruno and Oscar. We were teaching people how to make a google slide animation. here are some pictures of me Oscar and Bruno teaching.

Then after the work shop we all went back to the auditorium to have lunch then play for a bit.Now time for challenge number 2. Problem solving  we had 4 people from each school to do the challenge our 4 were Anuk, Izzy, Joyce and Dora.The aim was to make a tower at least 10 cm tall and it had to be able to hold a 100 gram weight. the materials you could use is straws, tape, 1 m of string and scissors.Here are some photos

Wow that was a lot of pictures.We came 2 in the competition.Sadly the day had come to end.today was a really fun day.

ALEX'S play ground

WHAT'S up blogging world.

Today in the middle block  TE WAKA AKO used tinkercad to design a play ground for the juniors  play ground because there play ground has got demolished for safety reasons.Here is a video about my play ground.

This was a hard activity because we had to find the right shapes to use to make the play ground.Please comment down below if you have ever used tinkercad and what you made and if you like my post's follow me so you can get updated for when I post something new.
