I hope you enjoyed the photos because it took a while to find them.It was also my favourite because it was all for the juniors new play ground.Don't forget to comment on my work and PLZ give me good feedback. BLOG YOU LATER.

GALA day

GALA Celebration day!!

What's up bloggers and welcome back to my Blog.

On the 25th of November Waikowhai Primary School is having a celebration day from 10am-3pm. We are having it because plastic bags and other bad stuff are being made so the whole school has decided to have a gala day and make sustainable products to save our world.

It's not only making sustainable products but we are also learning cultural dances. Everyone will be in one cultural group. We are also playing games so you can come too. Two things that I'm learning from this is how to sew and how to do some European dances. I know lots of people are learning stuff too like other cultural dances and how to make other sustainable products.

The steps to make a Tote bag can be quite hard if you don't know how to sew.
1. get two pieces of cloth/fabric.
2.use pins to pin the fabric together on the sides and the bottom but not the top otherwise you can't put anything in.
3.sew the bag together on the sides with the pins and when you get to close to a pin take the pin out and keep going until you've done all the edges except for the top.
4.turn the bag inside out and then iron it.
5.get some cloth/fabric and measure it to be 70cm long. These are your straps.
5.sew the straps on in a shape that looks like this

then you are finished.

I think this is going to be a good event because we are helping the environment and we are also learning new stuff.

These are three of the bags our class has made.
The reason how this is connected to sustainability is that there is plastic bags that are made for a single use but these tote bags that we are making are made for multiple use and it's not bad for the environment.

my Reading

My book review

 FROG WHISTLE MINE

what's up welcome back to my blog. Today I am blogging about a book that I read called Frog Whistle Mine. I made a slide show reviewing the story and telling the main points.I also made a character on create your wild self to make a main character and a minor character if you would like to use create your wild self then here is a link CLICK HERE. Here is my slideshow enjoy!

This activity was pretty easy because making the character's was easy and using tinkercad was also easy but it was hard when you had to write the main points because some times I forgot and then I had to read that bit of the book again.from this experience I learnt two new words(slide 11)and that there was a place called doctor bay The last thing I learnt was about weka and how there was only a few left and one of the family's  were called the butcher family. When we were making our characters we had to use the words and visualise what they might look like in the story. SEE YOU later bloggers.

Travelling around NZ on a set budget

What's up blogging friends and welcome back to my learning blog.

For the first 2 weeks of term 3 we have been working on a maths project where we had to travel around NZ from the bottom of the South Island all the way to the top of the North Island. Our set budget was $5,500 for the 11 days we were travelling. I was one of the few people who made it under budget! I made it under budget by $530.40 and my actual cost when I finished was $4969.60. Here is my slide show. HOPE YOU ENJOY!

If I did this again I would probably not choose the most expensive hotels and choose cheaper cars.
I found this activity hard because it included a lot of maths and hard decisions of what activity's to do and which hotels to use.
Blog you later.
